The Global Family Initiative is a non-profit organization headquartered in New York, New York. We’re a team of American and Ethiopian professionals devoted to responding to the orphan crisis in Addis Ababa and around the world.
Claudia Cooper, Ed.D
Claudia Cooper is a co-founder of Global Family Initiative’s Betasab project. She teaches full time in the Education Studies Program and the English and American Literatures Department at Middlebury College, specializing in literacy, and reading and writing children’s and young adult literature. Claudia has been traveling to and working in Ethiopia since 2003. She loves crafts, knitting, yoga, gardening, and cooking.
Nick is a co-founder of GFI’s Betasab Project and he teaches Philosophy at the University of Toledo. His primary academic interests are political philosophy and social justice. When not working, Nick enjoys tennis and hiking during the warm months, skiing during the winter, and running or basketball anytime in between. Nick loves music, traveling, eating, and cooking, and wishes he could spend more time doing all of those things.
Lorraine is a client services executive and digital strategist with over 15 years experience working with companies on product development innovation and integrated marketing strategies. Past clients include American Express, Hyatt Hotels, Jet Blue, Virgin America, HBO, New York University, and Aperture.
